About Us

I’m Tom Schindler, owner of Schindler Productions, and source of Sound Advice. I started the company a few years ago as an independent audio engineer, and expanded into the Home Theater design, sales and installation arena. We also do lighting control, shades, whole house automation and lots of new, innovative approaches to home audio and video.

I’ve been interested and involved in live sound reinforcement since my high school days at Bullard High School in Fresno, CA. From there, I did my time with a local sound company, working fairs up and down California, and eventually out on tour with different recording artists. Also spent some time touring abroad, taking entertainment to US troops in Eastern Europe, Japan and Afghanistan.

Marriage and a family made traveling more difficult, so I decided to take all that I had learned about audio, and apply it in the residential setting. This lead naturally into Home Theater, which branched into lighting control.

I love what I do. I want to do the best possible job for each of my clients, to give you the home theater experience you desire. What makes me different than the other guys?

I AM Schindler Productions. It’s my technical knowledge, my experience, my ear. I own the company, and I do the work. It must meet my expectations, and they are pretty high (just ask my wife!).

I am the ONLY technician in our local area certified by ISF for video calibration. What’s ISF? Check them out here: ISF. I am also a Level 2 “guru,” certified by the Home Acoustics Alliance (HAA), a professional training organization dedicated toward home acoustics. I can professionally calibrate your TV, video monitors, projectors, home theater systems and stereo systems.

  1. Hello, I was just browsing around AVS form and I ran into your name. I see that you are a local as I live in Reedley, CA.

I was wondering how much you charge to come out and calibrate my new LCD. I do believe that it looks good but maybe could use a professional to look into it. If price is not to much, and you get my TV to look better than it already is, I might be interested in you checking out my audio as well to see if it is at its optimum sound.

Please let me know what you think.

    Thanks,
    Wesley
